Position Purpose

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our highly skilled team for a time limited internship position. With support from the Project Manager and other Operations Team Managers, this intern will be specifically tasked with researching and developing educational materials for chronic care management and transition care management visits. This intern will also assist with content generation, planning and execution of population health outreach programs. This intern will also assist the accounting team with collecting timesheets, collecting tracked hours of non-salary employees, and other accounting tasks as needed. A basic understanding of accounting processes is preferred. The intern will contribute to team office functions as needed to help the office run in a smooth and efficient manner with minimal oversight. The intern will collaborate with and support Monument Health team members on various projects. The day’s work will be varied and largely dependent on the major needs of the company at that time. An ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, the ability to produce a finished product, and be highly organized.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with and support the internal team and executive leadership for meeting preparation including developing Powerpoint slides and other deliverables, scheduling, setup, etc.
  • Produce new content and modernize previous content on wellness, practice education, member education, and other topics as needed by the Operations managers.
  • Assist with member outreach programs, as needed by the Population Health Services team.
  • Support offsite wellness, enrollment, and community-related events with enthusiasm and
    energy (which may occur outside of usual working hours).
  • Develop a working knowledge of health policy concepts and general health plan benefits.
  • Research value-based care and best practice topics to assist with clinical pathway
    development
  • Develop resources that reflect key research elements.
  • Contribute to team office functions as needed to help the office run in a smooth and efficient
    manner with minimal oversight.
  • Light housekeeping (shared by all employees).
  • Protect Monument’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Review systems and processes and suggest/make modifications to address issues.
  • Occasional travel is required for conferences and assignments.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and
    effective functioning of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • 1+ year of experience using collaborative document management solutions such as Google Drive
  • 1+ year of experience in Google G-suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reliable transportation and valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Must adopt and live the Monument Health core values.

Education and Certifications Requirements

High School degree required.

OSHA Category Classification: Category III

The normal work routine of this position does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. The person holding this position will not be called upon to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some way. Category III does include handling of implements, utensils, equipment; using public restrooms and public telephones; and personal contacts such as handshaking.
