Primary care providers are in a unique position to identify and prevent suicides among patients. According to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC), “research tells us that people who die by suicide are more likely to have seen their primary care provider shortly before their death than any other health care professional.” {READ MORE} Often patients come to an exam room presenting with many different concerns but fail to tell their provider about the health concern that will kill them.  A prepared clinician and staff can make all the difference for a patient struggling with suicidal ideations.
